Hunter Maynard, a 6-2 284 DT from Columbus, OH Bishop Watterson, became the 10th verbal commitment for the Class of 2011 for Ball State! Maynard picked the Cardinals over an offer from UCF.

Aside from Cincinnati, Maynard has been recruited by Toledo, Northwestern, Indiana, Bowling Green, Kansas, Duke, UCF and holds an offer from Ball State and UCF.
Sounds like a good prospect. _________________ Listen to Ball State football on 91.3 WCRD www.wcrd.net

This is a BIG catch for Ball State. He has interest from Mich. State, Wisconsin, and WVU as well. He has great explosion and power off the ball. His profile on ScoutingOhio.com shows his skills against some of the best programs in the state of Ohio.
He loves the coaching staff at BS and could be an impact player next season. Look for big things from this kid on the field and in the community.
Congrats on BS for landing this kid. A quality pick up .

Welcome Hunter!! Sounds like this young man is the kind of student athlete we need more of. I truly believe that Ball State can attract enough top tier players to make us a force in collegiate football. Fresno and Boise State have done it. Utah has done it. Now it is our turn. Ball State's academic reputation is growing each year. The campus is getting more beautiful each year. And last but not least, our athletic programs continue to improve. If we recruit BCS talent, we will land more than our share. We have just as much, if not MORE to offer than many BCS schools. It will be interesting to find out what criteria Hunter used in his decision making. _________________ Bigger Faster Stronger

Maynard had a great game last night, as Watterson beat Akron St. Vin St . Mary 20-7. He is a force up front. Had 3 big hits on 2 QB's, 2 caused fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery, along with 2 TFL. Flushed the QB out of pocket all night and his LB's had a huge game. Held Doran Grant and Mark Murphy in check all night.
Even getting double teamed all night he wrecked havoc and was virtually unstoppable. At 295 Lbs. he is expolsive off the ball.
Playing both ways and had several second tier blocks down field.
He is the real deal and BS has landed a great player.
How did the other recruits look last night?
